It’s that time of year again! Love is in the air and the world is getting ready to celebrate the 14th of February.
But this year, something is different!
This time, you get to celebrate alongside the hordes of loved-up couples as well. And you’re going to do everything in your power to make sure that you and your beloved partner enjoy it.
Where Should You Start?
Let’s decide on the venue first.
You and your partner have both taken the day off, so you know the opportunities are endless. You could go out to a restaurant like a classy twosome! Or you could go another way; a day of celebration at home with the best food, drinks, and company, with some kisses and entirely inappropriate touching sprinkled here and there.
Steps to Planning the Ultimate Valentine’s Day
- Start with a Strategy Early On
Do not wait 2–3 days before V-day to start planning. Restaurants might be booked solid, food deliveries will be backed up, and packages might not even arrive on time. If you need to order something for the day, order it at least 2 weeks in advance so you don’t have to deal with the holiday rush.
- Get the Little Things Done First
Thinking of adding a nice spa treatment to your Valentine’s Day plan? Order the spa gift basket you need, along with flowers, chocolate, candles, a card, and any additional gifts. Make sure to double check that everything will arrive on time. You can never have too many things when it comes to celebrating.
- Make Cooking an Adventure
Not ordering in? Why not choose a recipe and prepare it with your SO? Decide beforehand which dish you’ll be making, bring in the ingredients, and store them so you have everything you need. One piece of advice: make something simple like a dessert. Make it chocolate-based as well. Can’t go wrong with chocolate!
- Dress to Impress
While PJs and sweatpants are fine and dandy, they aren’t very romantic! Make an effort this year and wear something your partner loves. If you’re a man, wear jeans and a comfortable shirt. For the ladies, skirts-and-tops or a snazzy dress will do the trick!
- Plan a Journey
You don’t just want one thing to be Valentine-related. You want the whole day to be memorable. Given that you’ll both have the day off (fingers crossed), you can sleep in, have breakfast in bed, lounge around the house, go for a walk or a picnic, or watch a movie. The plan is to enjoy this day to the fullest!
- Unplug
Just for one day, stay away from your phones and the TV. You’ll be surprised at how free you feel if your phone isn’t pinging you for your attention. You can listen to some mood music if you want, but try to not use any electronics for anything else. Focus on each other, talk the day away. It’s about creating memories!
- End the Night Right
If you’ve ordered a Valentine's Day bath set from Lovery, you’ll get plenty of products such as bath bombs and shower gels. But you’ll also get massage oils, scrubs and more, and that’s what you need. Once dinner is done, enjoy a nice relaxing bath together and then give each other a massage. What you do after that is completely up to you!
Start Planning!
Now that you know what to do, don’t wait!
February has just started and you have just enough time. Order your spa gift basket from Lovery, go grocery shopping for that ultimate dinner and tell your boss you’ll be unavailable on Valentine's Day!
Get all your bases covered!
